I have added this post, to show what can be achieved with a coloured pencil.
I have a while to go before I get to this level, but the journey will be fun.........

The keeper of souls

EDM challenge number 97
Draw a present you have received. Why is it special?

Well, for this challenge, I have drawn this wooden rabbit that I got this week.
The rabbit's resting place is on the top shelf of my bookcase. It is special because it is the 'keeper of souls'.
I think books are souls, they are special, you dip into them when you are sad or happy, you find words or pictures that comfort you or inspire you, so the rabbit is looking after their souls.................
The drawing is in black ink with coloured pencils, to add some interest I also used brown paper in certain areas.

who says you have to draw with a pencil continued.............

Last year I went to Alexander Palaces Knitting and Stitching show.
I came across these two wonderful portraits, both drawn with a sewing machine.

Absoulute/Relative

I am creature of comfort, I love the abstract and nonrepresentational ideals of what is beauty.
These images that I have put together represent where I am at the moment. I hope to do them justice in my future pieces.................

Weapons of choice

At the moment my weapons of choice are coloured pencils and a trusty Rotring art pen and a Muji gel pen.
I love the Berol's Karismacolour, sadly no longer available, so the nearest thing I could find are Derwent coloursoft, I have just purchased a 72 box set from Amazon :-)
Things will change, I have a lovey watercolour set that is crying out to be used and a wonderful collection Gouache' paints.

Drawing classes

So I am contemplating on joining a 4 week drawing class in June, I wish it was sooner but until then I can still practice my technique.

Listening to Mary

The ramblings of an old women
Listening to Mary

I have to keep asking people what the day is and the date.
I cannot remember they must think I am mad!!
85 years old, you do not get to that age without talking to yourself
because you have no one else to talk to.........
I must stop talking to myself, but you have to talk to some-one?
I am reasoning with myself not talking to myself...........

She spoke, I listened and drew.

The studio at last

At last I have a studio that I want to be in, it has taken a while but the room is now light and bright with painted white floor boards. All the work done by myself which makes my space more personnel.
